Emmanuel’s Kids are Back in School

January 16th, 2009, we received this note from Emmanuel Ande Ivorgba in Nigeria. Jos, Nigeria was rocked by riots which killed over 300 people in late November (2008), and his school was closed, only to reopen recently.

EmmanuelDear All,

Greetings and I thank you all. I am happy to inform you that our school term just begun last Monday, January 12, 2009. The faculty and students settled down immediately and we just completed last term’s examinations this morning, which were suspended as a result of the November Violence in Jos. Next week, school activities will commence in full force, having lost four weeks from our academic calendar already.

And to crown it all, Dayanand John Diffenbaugh is right here with us. What a joyful moment for us at CMIA. This morning Dayanand held a wonderful session with the faculty and shared from his wealth of experience. It was also a privilege that the faculty seized to learn and to also ask questions.

On behalf of all of us here, I send our deepest thanks to you all [...]

With kind regards and best wishes, Emmanuel
